What to drink for Dry January? Drink differently, without giving up pleasure
Elegant and characterful alternatives according to Alain Milliat
Every beginning of the year poses the same question: what to drink… when you don’t drink?
Dry January, or “alcohol-free month,” is no longer a constraint. It’s a breath — an opportunity to slow down, rebalance, and perhaps even rediscover pleasure in a different way.
At Alain Milliat, this approach resonates as an obvious choice.
As a French reference for tasting juices, the House has defended a simple belief for nearly 30 years: fruit can be a strong moment, an emotion, a celebration.
Provided it is expressed accurately.
Two collections embody this vision of non-alcoholic options — not as a withdrawal, but as another way to savor without giving up pleasure:
-
The Organic Dilutable Concentrates, to create your own refined cocktails,
-
The Sparkling Monovarietal Grape Beverages, to rediscover the emotion of bubbles… without a drop of alcohol.
Dry January, an established trend
The no-low market (non-alcoholic or low-alcohol beverages) reaches 13 billion euros worldwide, with a growth of +5% per year. In France, 28% of consumers and 41% of 26–35 year-olds have already adopted these more conscious beverages, seeking above all quality, taste, and shared pleasure.
In the face of this underlying movement, at Alain Milliat, non-alcoholic options do not take anything away; they reveal something else: the aromas, the gestures, the conversations, everything that makes up a shared moment.
Rather than a “without” logic, the House advocates a philosophy of “with”: with taste, with sincerity, with fruit.
We no longer seek to oppose alcohol: we alternate according to our desire or energy of the day. This freedom has a name: flexidrinking — a flexible and relaxed way to enjoy a drink, with intention rather than habit.
The Dilutable Concentrates: the intensity of fruit, alcohol-free
A 100% organic collection, made in France. Three complementary flavors, crafted from carefully selected ingredients, without added flavors or sweeteners:
The Ginger — Power & Heat
A powerful recipe thanks to "aged" ginger from Madagascar, highlighted by the invigorating and smoky heat of Bird's Eye chili. Softened by an infusion of verbena and enhanced by a hint of Sicilian lime juice, this composition offers a unique intensity.
The Yuzu — Bitterness & Freshness
A fresh bitterness from high-altitude yuzu from Japan, combined with infusions of gentian and bergamot. Completed with Sicilian lemon juice, this recipe offers harmonious and refined freshness.
The Passion Fruit — Tangy & Exotic
An intense and exotic creation, with yellow passion fruit "maracuja," spicy and woody black pepper from Madagascar, and a touch of Sicilian lime to bring freshness and balance.

The Sparkling Grape Juices: celebrate differently
For moments that deserve a sparkling glass, the Single Varietal Sparkling Grape Juices offer an elegant and natural alternative to alcoholic bubbles.
Made from emblematic grape varieties, they are crafted from French grapes grown in a certified High Environmental Value (HVE) estate and pressed without fermentation: just the fruit — in its purest form.
Two cuvées, for two interpretations of pleasure:
The Chardonnay – Blanc de Blancs
Made from grapes grown on the Coste Blanche plot (limestone slope of Tarn), it is blended with 10% of verjus from white grape varieties to reveal all its freshness.
-
Color : golden, slightly pink
-
Nose : roasted mirabelle, heather honey
-
Palate : balance between fine sweetness, tangy freshness, and sparkling effervescence
-
Ideal for : delicate appetizers, seared scallops, refined cocktails
The Pinot Noir – Blanc de Noirs
From the same certified High Environmental Value estate, this non-alcoholic Blanc de Noirs expresses all the nobility of Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape of Champagnes and great Burgundy wines.
-
Color : very light, sparkling, slightly blurred
-
Nose : pear, orchard apple
-
Palate: vinous reliefs, fruity notes, and fine persistent bubbles
-
Ideal for: exotic pavlova, light desserts, moments of sharing

After tasting: it's time for creation
Dry January is not just about "not drinking" — it’s an opportunity to create, to explore, to invent your own way to toast.
With the organic Dilutable Concentrates and Single Varietal Grape Sparkling, the House gives you the keys to create your own drinks: lighter, more controlled... but always flavorful.
Our creations do not replace anything: they reveal something else.
Pleasure, conviviality, and generosity remain; only the sensation changes.
