Strawberry jam shortbread

A classic French pastry. Simple to make, these little shortbreads made with our Sengana Strawberry Jam will delight young and old alike at snack time.

Ingredients
- 250g of soft butter
- 125g icing sugar
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 450g of flour
- 50g of cornstarch
- 1 jar of Sengana Extra Strawberry Jam (for garnish)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Icing sugar (for decoration)
Préparation
- 01 In a bowl, mix the softened butter with the icing sugar until creamy, then add the egg yolks, one by one, then the vanilla sugar.
- 02 Then add the flour, cornstarch, and yeast until you have a smooth dough. Shape into a ball, flatten it slightly, wrap in cling film, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- 03 Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- 04 Roll out the dough to a thickness of 5 mm on a lightly floured surface. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters. For half of the cookies, use a smaller cutter to make a hole in the center.
- 05 Place the shortbread on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until lightly browned.
- 06 Once cooled, spread the jam on the shortbreads, then combine with the holey shortbreads.
- 07 Sprinkle with icing sugar using a sieve for a pretty finish.
